Woodhouse II in Pompano Beach, Florida has been operating as a co-ed residential facility for adults with intellectual disabilities coupled with extreme medical or behavioral challenges since May of 1983. The 24 residents all receive 24-hour nursing care, personal care and teaching as an alternative to institutional living. The main objective at Woodhouse II is to provide individuals with opportunities for fulfillment by teaching self-care skills, community safety, home maintenance, heath maintenance, and healthy expressions of emotions. To achieve this, each person has an interdisciplinary team comprised of professionals from various fields who look at the whole person and help them develop a plan for meeting their future goals.
The Staff of Woodhouse II celebrate its 32nd Anniversary on May 23, 2015. The event was catered by Black Swan Special Events who provided an amazing spread of food. After Melissa Farrow was presented with the Employee of the Year Award, the group could not help but to erupt into dance.
